Hub World Travel announces the Better World Fund.

It's official! The Hub World Travel "Better World Fund" is launched! We celebrated this watershed occasion with a waterfalls hike in the beautiful Columbia Gorge. After an overcast start to the day the clouds gave way to clear skies, affording panoramic views of the Columbia River and the Gorge. Our loop hike took us up the Wahkeena Falls Trail, with its many cascades tumbling past towering trees and fern-covered canyon walls. We returned via the Gorge's signature Multnomah Falls, with a stop at the top to peer down on the scene below. Then we headed to the historic Multnomah Falls lodge for a delicious and well-earned brunch.

During brunch the Founder of Hub World Travel, David Penilton, shared his vision for the Better World Fund as one way for Hub World Travel to be a better world citizen by giving back to our global community. The first beneficiary of the fund is the Ethiopia Project, a Portland-based nonprofit working to alleviate the impacts of poverty in Ethiopia.

In keeping with its mission to serve travelers while benefiting the people and places we visit, HUB World Travel partners with non-governmental organizations that do work throughout the world. In addition to special fundraising and awareness-raising events, we offer adventure and "voluntourism" trips to countries across the glove. Stay tune for more opportunities to lend a helping hand while having a great time.
